BL Telescopii

BL Telescopii is an Algol type large amplitude, long period eclipsing system of the type EA/GS+SR. Accurate visual observations can be achieved. The V magnitude is 7.09 to 9.41 with small amplitude, semi regular variations. The mean period between consecutive eclipses is given as 778.6 days but the interval between eclipses, the amplitude and their duration are known to vary.

My visual observations and light curve of the 1994 eclipse of BL Tel. Mid eclipse was centered on May 8, 1994 JD 2449481.0. The duration of eclipse was around 68 days. The start of this eclipse was missed due to weather conditions.

My visual observations and light curve of the 1998 eclipse of BL Tel. Mid eclipse was centered on August 9, 1998 JD 2451033.9. The duration of eclipse was around 60 days.

My visual Observations and light curve of the 2000 eclipse of BL Tel. Mid eclipse was centered on September 2000, JD 2451815.9 The duration of eclipse was around 72 days.

The date between mid eclipses of 1998 and 2000 from my visual observations gives an interval of 782 days.
